yeah, and the whole tuning thing has me worried too! JDM and Brenspeed are known for great tunes.... but what if I am in FL and there are no tuners near my place of residence? I am not concerned about the install....I will doit myself. Its just that d@mn tune that scares me. Are there any other SAFE options?

I have been leaning towards the TS type S/C. However, the "complete kit" offered by brenspeed and his reputation for tunes sorta pulled me in that direction for a little while. Personally, I like the look of the Saleen kit. But I also like the whipple as well.

IMHO the twin screw s/c's are the most fun on the street. Lots of low end torque and it comes on almost instantly when you mash the pedal.A turbo will give you the most overall torque because there is no parasitic loss. It doesn't run off the serp belt, it runs off the exhaust pressure(basically free boost). The price you pay is that it takes time to spin up(turbo lag), so your power is higher in the rpm range. Cetri's are sort of a mix between the two. They run off the engine belt andspin up like a turbo. You have a little lag, but they are capable of lots of boost depending on the unit you get. On a stock bottom end a more consistant and lower boost pressure is better. No matter what you go with, the tune is very important. Too much timing or not enough fuel is a recipe for kaboom because of detonation[sm=badbadbad.gif]. Most of the extras that go along w/ the s/c help prevent this (colder plugs, intercooler, fuel sys. upgrades).

The moral of the story is if your looking for a sweet street car, w/o going to a built motor, a twin screw is the most bang for the buck...again, just MHO.

Not sure about who has the best tune, but a custome tune is prob the best way to go after a s/c install. Saw this on another board, may be worth looking into...
