Can anybody give me a low cost way to improve my stock 5-Speed Shifter? Any good ideas will help.

I installed The Prothane complete bushing kit on my GT it comes with most of the suspension bushings and shifter bushings as well. You can buy the shifter bushings separately if you want. I also installed an aluminum T-type shifter handle and Royal Purple trans oil. Big improvement!

did you just dump the fluids and decide to put that in, or was there another reason

I installed the Saleen shift block adapter and harder urathane mounting bushings on my '06 GT, huge improvment. Feels like a new shifter. I also changed out the OE fluid for some Redline D4ATF at the same time. I'm sure that didn't hurt either.

Add the adater, bushing, and a CHE K memeber brace with Torque Limiters and you will love the stock shifter.
