I mean, what software. In GM world, one of the more common ones is HP Tuners or TunerCats. What's the preferred software in Ford world? This would be for my 06 Mustang GT.

So, what are you using? What don't you like about what you are currently using and what don't you like about other available software that made you choose what you have? Lastly, does the software you chose allow tuningAND scanning/logging or do you have to use mutiple pieces?

The preferred software is SCT Xcalibrator II and the Diablosport Predator. Brenspeed.com, B a m achips.com (minus the spacing.), and many other stores offer these devices with Cold Air Intakes, and pre programmed tunes (I recommend getting one from the vendors listed as they have really good tunes) and it's that simple. If you'd like to do your tuning on your own, SCT also sells software or something so you can do your own tuning. Other then that you can do a few things with the SCT like alter your gear ratio (for when/if you change gears) Rev limits, and so on.

I'm not looking for pre-programmed tuning like you get with the hand-helds, I want to do it all myself.

then you want to buy the software to do it yourself. I think Xcalibrator sells that. Lots of people love it, but most use the preset versions.

+1 to above

SCT Pro Racer software...but be sure you know what you're doing, it's really easy to make things go boom if you run lean.

Yes, I dont know your background but this is expert material that should not be messed with unless you know what you are doing. If you do know what you are doing, then I expect 300+ with CAI and tune!

I'm comfortable with it. I use a wide band for tuning so no worries on running lean.

P.S. Your car is a spitting image of mine.
