Default DIY Axle-Back install

Hey guys, I'm looking into either SLP's or Corsa's (dont want this to be one of the "this one sounds better" threads).
I am a little curious about installation.... when removing the stock exhaust, is there cutting required? I imagine there would be. Also, would I need to weld the new axle-backs? I'd prefer to do the work myself, but if theres cutting and welding involved, I'll have to take it somewhere.
Also, any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Easy as pie. Axle backs are on w/ clamps. No cutting or welding. Just a few 13mm hanger bolts......

Very simple. You don't even need to raise the car on jack stands.
