IfI rememberreading the article correctly,Motor trend could get the auto 5.1, and the manual 5.3 in the 0 - 60. It's a 5 speed auto, so the missing of gears and slow shifting if avoided.

Correct, the gearing is different and you cant hold it in the power band as long as with a manual. But they are really about equal when you get rid of the throttle lag.
The g-tech are not spot on accurate, many factors can mess with it. It can give general numbers but I would bet money with them.

Speaking strictly based on track #'s. I am still stock geared and on the P-zero's. But I have done just about everything else short of NO2 or supercharging. My best 2 weekends ago
1.996 60ft (I am having issues with the P-zero's hooking)
5.606 330ft @ 64.35mph
8.497 1/8th @ 85.23mph
The auto is really a dog with the factory tune. However, once the tranny itself has been tuned to match what the car is doing they aregreat.
If anyone with a five speed can chime in that has been modded comparably then it should be an apples to apples comparison. I am curious also. No one has my mods at the track soI have not been able to run a five speed that compares.
