Rubbing sound with low speed turns
Just got a new 07 GT premium. I've noticed that as I make low speed turns (like in a parking lot), there is a rubbing noise. It's a high-pitched squeal that first I thought that it might be ps related but it's not. I don't hear it at higher speeds, but that may just be because there's more noise. It reminds me of what you might get with something rubbing against a tire.
Took it to the dealer and got some sort of total bs line about a dry bushing.
Anybody run into this?
Thanks

RE: Rubbing sound with low speed turns
Does it sound like it is coming from the rear? Kind of a moaning sound?
If so this isa VERY common problem on any Ford with an 8.8" rear end and a LSD. There are no less than 3 TSBs out for it: It is caused by defective clutch discs in the rear diff. It is covered under warranty.

RE: Rubbing sound with low speed turns
had the same thing on my 06. they had to replace the clutches on the rearend. i hadher back in a day. make sure they put the friction material in when they replace the clutches, that is the reason they went bad in the first place. they either forgot or didnt put enough in at the factory.
