Default Changing Shift Points through ECU Tuner

I have the Xcal 2 ecu tuner... I was wondering if it is safe to manually change the shift points through the ecu tuner. does anyone have the Xcal tuner and know what i am talking about? if so, have you messed with the shift points? i am not sure how it works because i dont want to put in a wrong speed for the car to shift and it will rev the engine too hard...
