Best hypothetical $1000 bolt-on combo

RE: Best hypothetical $1000 bolt-on combo
I'd say the CAI & Tuner along with the Driveshaft would be a good first couple of mods. I haven't done gears and I don't plan on doing them. Down the road I want to get a new differential, and I'll be adding some 31 spline axles maybe, and along with a girdle... If at most, I'd throw 3.73s in. Just my preference.

menace,
we already have 31 spline axles so there is really no need to upgrade unless you are reall going to beat on it at the track. i would however replace the factory posi with an eaton or auburn when changing gears.

My longterm goal is to keep the car streetable as a daily driver and be able to mod the car incrementally in my driveway without my wife noticing the money missing!
I have a modded 5.0 that is decommissioned, so to speak, so I'm not a novice modder, I'm just learning a new game.

you could get the ford racing "drag" kit for about $1200. I think it includes 4.10's, CAI, short shifter, headers, and something else can' t remember. Oh yeah a pro-cal tuner.

The kit is not worth it because the tuner doesnt allow for any adjustments. The CAI is a Steeda actually which is decent. The STS is rebadged hurst which is good, but you should get the real thing IMO. The gears are worth it but the headers arent anythign special either. Install costs are pretty damn high also. For 1000, he can get 10+ HP over the FRPPfrom B amachips or Brenspeed CAI and tunes and the gears. The install for the gears would be 200-300 on top of that.

I would get two hookers for the trunk, nothing is more fun then dead hookers. On a serious note you only need one though. But I think general consensus would be CAI and Tune, if you can get gears installed for 400 then that is your best 1k combo. If not, Tune, CAI, and UDPs, would be a good bet.
