Default can it be?

06' GT
I put in a K&N airfilter, got on the interstate to go to Dallas, when i checked my MPG the display showed 29.9 to 30.1 , with cruise control on, ac off, speed 65 mph, never have I seen that high of a mpg, tried different speeds and at 70 and 75 the mph was from 1.7 to 2.2 mph higher than I ever saw it. When I cruise into Lousiana Sunday to do some gambling at the Horseshoe I will have a good run to test mpg, trip is aprox. 214 miles and I know the average mph I "used" to get....I find it hard to believe just the filter change took my mph that high........city shows aprox. 19.5.....I dont really care to much about mpg, however, the jump I have seen so far is impressive. Is it me or is it Memorex?

only true way to test the milage is to do it by hand....fill her up and reset the fuel used....then do the math and youll get the most accurate result
