Default trans. slipping

hey got an auto, floored it one day and my floor mat got stuck under my brake pedal and above my gas pedal. so when hitting the brakes my car was also reving since the floor mat was pushing down on the gas. of course i paniced im in an apartment complex surrounded by cars and my vehicle is slowly making its way through it, while i was peeling out. w/ out THINKING i threw my car in park. keep in mind the gas is still being pushed cause it hasnt clicked yet about the floor mat. It was revving really high so i threw her indrive again, put on my emergency brake and pulled my floor mat back....should i tell this to the serv. dept when i take her in for work? 17,000 miles is this covered or will they give me S**t about it?

Default RE: trans. slipping

You should have simply turned the key to off immediately and it would have prevented any damage.
Hope your tranny is still o.k.!
