You're in northern IL too, right? Do you have a timeslip scanned from that run?

A guy I work with tells me I can't break 14s, and if I go to the track and he sees me do it, he'll give me $100. From what he says it sounds like he used to go to the track about 10 years ago. He says he saw plenty of cars with blowers that had a hard time breaking 14s, and even with my JLT II intake / Brenspeed tune I couldn't get into the 13s, that I don't know how fast 13s are, that I can try on as many runs as I want and I won't break 14s, blah blah blah.

I figure with a good launch I should be mid/low 13s, right?

Yeah i live in IL and i ran those times on Northern IL (Byron dragway) that guy simply CAN'T drive. S197s are easy 13 sec cars. I swear i was missing 3rd gear and still running 13.8- 13.9s

With a good launch and decent shifting, let alone High 13s, you will be in low 13s with that intake & tune mods.

I ran 12.70 @ 113 mph with 2.0 60' in my terminator Bone stock!

Yes i have that timeslip scanned here it is:

I was running consistent 13.6s with my old S197 with 2.0 60's I even have a video of me running on a 80+ dgrees weather and 87% humidity with missing4thgear 5-6 cars before the finish line and let the car roll and still run 13.6 @ 93mph check my sig. link.

i haven't driven S197 for 2 months now and i am sure if i get in any stock S197 i can still run mid 13s.

I don't think you can do much while driving auto other than flooring it the entire time. Lower your tire pressure to 20 psi and just stage and floor it or hit the brake and rev it up untill tires barely holding the ground and when the last yellow light turns let the brake go and floor it! make sure TCS is off and youtake spare, jack, etc off of the car. Thats all you can do with auto my friend.

good luck.

I rand the 1/4 mile in 14.12 seconds at 102.86 miles an hour. I dont think I got a good laucnh all day... I am going back up next weekend to see if I can do any better. Im an auto with 3.73 gears, intake and tune, JBA shorties, magnaflow catback, and I took the subwoofers out when I ran. Think I can do better? feeeeddback....!
I saw an automatic with heak soak run 13.5@103 last year setup like yours, when he cooled down he ran a 13.2@103. Yes you can do MUCH better. Post the timeslip, 60ft, 1/8th mile post all of it, it makes it easier to determine what went wrong.

o wow... i really need to get on this... i didnt have drag radials either... i had the stock factory tires on the car with the 18 inch rims. i took out the subs. it had a full tank of gas when i was up there. i tuned it to 93 oct. i reved up to about 2 thousand rpm and held the brake. my launch seemed really off though!
