first off, if the mods are "worth it" to youthen they are worth it. dont let that guy spend your money for you. honestly, with all my mods, the headers are thethird favorite thing i have dont next to my CAI and tune and my gears. cant help you on the driveshaft so leave that to another reply. as or the gears, i have 3.73's and drive 60 HWY miles one way to my job in rush hour traffic both ways (Houston) and still AVG 23 MPG and i have a pretty heavy foot.

go ahead and get what you want to get. after all, it's your car...just dont go wasting all your money on a TB or TB Spacer or something like that...

Do you have a automatic or standard shift? If it is standard do you wish you would have gone to the 3:90s'?

By the way that mineralGray is ****ing tough dude.

Seriously...I would suggest finding another shop...Not a person on here has uttered any of the following:

1) I wish I hadn't installed 4.10s (with the exception of SOME and I mean SOME not all of the SC guys who say 1st gear is useless)
2) I wish I hadn't installed my LTs they were a waste (now the shorty guys have stated they wish they had gond LT)
3) I didn't notice anything with my DS...I wish I hadn't installed it....

Seriously, find yourself another shop!!!!!

I have 3.9 and now wish I would have gone with the 4.10s. You will run about 2750 rpm at 75 to 80 but that is what the car likes. I lost about 2 mph on avarage when driving like a normal person, the problem is when you have gears it is hard to keep your foot out of it. The stang pulls soo much better with gears and how often are you going to be above 120 mph?

^ That's exactly what I run (eventhough different vehicle all together) - but 4.10's are great. I love 'em and will only replace them if my FI project makes it a necessity. I say you should go 3.90. Yeah, its not much different from 4.10 but its pretty low - which is the whole point - yet you get a taste of both words. Much better for a daily driver. Pretty sure I wouldn't be so fond of my gears if I drove that car daily.[sm=smiley24.gif]

The guy is a butt-monkey. I have hadthe 4:10's for over a year and still love them. I run 2800 rpm's at 80 mph. I also have the denny's shaft. Worth every penny. With all the mods I have, cams, long tubes, yada, yada, I still get a little over 20 mpg average. Go for it dude!

Interesting info. I just got my mustang last week...first mustang ever and I'm no mechanic. It's a '06 GT and I was wondering what gears it comes with stock? I'm so noobish when it comes to this stuff.

I think the 06s' came with 3:55 stock however the 2007s' the 3:31s' stock and 3:55 as an option. A whole hundred more dollars if you wanted 3:55s.'

I've responded on this subject several times and sorry to be repeating for those that heard it. I had 4.10's for about two weeks and they were awesome. But, do to the type of driving I was doing,180 miles each way three times a week at highway speeds reving 300 rpm's more than 3.73's didn't make sense. I switched to 3.73's and found them to be a good comprimise, better than stock and pull much better in 5th gear. Hope this helps. PS my 4.10's are on stand-by in my basement.
