procharger gets installed next week
Well finally i get to have my procharger installed this coming tuesday. i just wanted to ask those with sc and tunes did you start running the higher octane right before you had a tune installed. im asking this because ive been running 89 ocatane till now i just ran my tank down till it was on E then i went and put in 91 ocatane will this casue any issues.

nope, you can tune your car to an octane so tell them to tune it to 91. or if you wanna run it at 88 then tell them 88. Im getting my car back tomorrow with a turbo in it. good luck waiting!! haha its sooo hard

My Procharger manual states the following on page 27
WARNING
The car must be operated on 91 or higher octane fuel. Do not run your supercharged Mustang on any gas lower than 91 octane!
I put in 93 octane on the way to the speed shop right before install.

My KB SCer will be installed next week. I asked my installer if I should start running high octane now, he said it may be a good idea so when the insatllation is done the correct octane would be already in the car.

Nah that shouldn't hurt. A lot of times when people are tuning a car on the dyno they will run a higher octane than they are tuning for to fight off detonation.Have you found 93 around the local area?

no only the one on base which is 91 but most of texas runs 93 that is my concern since im going to travel to texas in the summer and my tune is going to be a 91 so if i understand the manuel correctly i should be ok with a 91 tune and putting in 93 octane when im in texas with out changing the tune or having a retune

You will probably lose some power running the 91 vs. 93 oct. tune, I know when Brent at Brenspeed tuned mine he asked serveral times if I had a full tank of 93 oct. he didn't want to advance the timing to far , and cause harm to the engine.
