lol, i had considered just cutting out a small
square (about 2" x 2") of the hood liner, just
where it hits the air filter.....
that just seemed to cheesy and i was waiting for a better

See my other post about the JLT filter. I replaced mine with one 1 inch shorter than stock. I also wanted a blue filter. Now mine doesn't rub the hood or the fender because I moved it forward to eliminate the hood and of course it doesn't touch the fender now cause it's shorter.

Mine rubs in the metal end of the filter on the metal part of the hood. It has rubbed the paint from the hood, and the black metal on the end of the filter.
Black touch up paint on the filter for now, Ill rotate it 180 so you wont see it next time I change it.
And steeda hood going on soon as far as worring about the hood paint.
