Default Pro 5.0 questions

I put a Pro 5.0 shifter in my 07 GT a few weeks ago and have a few questions for you all who also have them. After installing I noticed that it is sometimes difficult to get the tranny in 1st or 2nd gear. I really have to pull it hard over to the left and then go into gear. My guess is that it is just the strong centering springs. I have no problem with it when im ripping gears but when im just cruisin around i notice it. I have also noticed the same for 5th and Reverse. I really have to push it hard right then into gear. Once again I think this is due to the strong centering springs since im getting the same issue on both sides of 3rd and 4th. Its not really a big promblem at all, just something i have noticed. For all you out there with Pro 5.0s in as well, could you give me some feedback on if you experiance this with yous as well. Thanks a lot

I have one & don't notice it. 1'st & 2nd is no problem. Reverse for me is a real hard one to get into though & the throw out to 5th is sometimes tough. I'd say I am having the exact opposite problem that you are. However, I don't even think about it much.
I wonder if all the alignment on the bushings on yours is correct.

I also have a little problem with 5th and Reverse. Not so much first and second.
I researched the shifter before my purchase and omeone mentioned that the tranny bolt might be too tight if you have this problem? Try the search function, that's where I found it.
Good luck.

5th and Reverse yes, but I like it that way .. because when your ripping through the gears, you will definetly not miss 3rd.

I agree, having a little trouble getting into 5th & reverse isn't really a problem as I see it. My biggest issue is when I get into a race & get all excited & rip into 2nd too fast I have ground the gears & lost several races...
It's a really crappy feeling knowing you lost because you screwed up, and on top of that you feel like you just took a few years off the life of your trans. I thought the shifter would fix this problem, but it did not.
Only happens at very high rpms... Maybe a new clutch will fix it, I am overdue for one anyway.

I have one and had the same problem at first. I don't have any problems now. I've had it for about a year. It gets easier as time passes.

I have the Pro 5.0 and am very happy with it. It was tight going into 5th and reverse at first, but losened up after a short bit. I've never missed a gear with it (now I just need to find some wood to knock on), especially second. Not sure, but I would guess you're just being a little over zealous with your shifting if you've missed 2nd. I rip third real nice now with this shifter, and 2nd is just so much fun!
