Default Tire question

I just got my Mickey Thompson ET street drag radials today and I'm having them put on tomorrow. They look like they will hook like a mother****** lol. My only concern is that people say they don't last long. What if I take it easy on them. Will they last then? I hate to pay 400 bucks for something thats only going to last a few months of driving.

They are the only ones I could find for a 17" rim. They are 275/40 17. They reccomend a 9" wide rim , but says it will work on a rim 1" smaller or bigger. Mine is 8", so I'm fine.

From the context of what your saying, it sounds like your planning on driving on them for everyday use? If thats the case, if you get 2 or 3 months out of them, I will be surprised. Drag radials are meant to be put on at the race, used while your racing and swapped out afterwards. They are a VERY soft compound which will wear VERY fast, but thats part of how they hook.

If your using them only to race... I've seen DR's last as long as an entire season or as little as a night. Depends on how bad ya beat on them in the burnout box.

These are the ET streets though. They are street legal and are even good for highway driving. They aren't just a slick for the track.

read the fine print although you can drive on the streets its not really reccomended. What I would do is get another set of rims and use the slicks on there for the track. then have ur stocks for daily driving, otherwise go to a drag radial. like a nitto 555r
