Car Wash Soap, Wax, Touch-Up Detailer, Wheel Dressing
Now that it's finally starting to get nice out, what sort of the above products are you guys using?
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a water hose where I live, so I run it through a brushless car wash about twice a month.
Any suggestions on what to use in between?
I guess I could carry a bucket of water outside for touch-ups.
Did I mention I have to park on gravel at home plus I work very close to a quarry?
Is there anything safe I could use to wipe the dry gravel/quarry dust off without damaging the paint?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Lance

I live in the desert, not gravel dust, but sand dust.
I wouldn't wipe it with anything with that dust on there. I go to a regular spray power wash once a week. Spray it with soap, throw a couple micro fiber towels on it get everything off, rinse, micro fiber towel it dry. Go over it with quick detailer, rubbing it on in one pass, then buffing it off. Takes me and my son all of about 45 minutes and a buck fifty in quarters.
Believe it or not...
If I just buff it once real quick in the last step I get tons of dust sticking to it in a day or two. If I go over it real light but several passes the dust isn't attracted near as much or as soon. Something to do with static electricity maybe....read somewhere of people actually grounding their car when waxing / buffing. Haven't tried that yet.

I just detailed mine and I use the Mequire three phasse products. Does a fantastic job and isn't that expensive. Fortunately, I don't have sand or gravel to worry about. The brushless wash is probably your best best to get the dust off.

I've done it in two other threads and I'll do it here too.
I use all Poorboy's stuff that I got from Justin (Juztang) at www.obsessivedetail.com
(If I keep up this constant barrage of pro-Justin posts I'm hoping I can get a discount in the future )
The waterless wash and quick detailer are awesome for me. I also got the pro polish, sealant and natty's wax from him. Haven't used it yet because of the constant threat of rain the past two days and the lack of a garage. My only problem is that I fight a daily battle (and a losing one at that) with pollen and this damn south Texas dust that never stops...it even comes down INSIDE the raindrops and leaves a nice nasty dusty film after every rainstorm.
That makes the waterless wash spray great. That and a few microfiber towels gets it looking good again in no time at all.
