loss of torque with o/r midpipe?
 

i've heard this twice now, that when you get rid of the cats, the car doesn't feel as torquey on the bottom end, can anyone attest?

maybe it was just people who got the o/r x to replace the stock h?

Just the opposite, removing the cats free's up flow, theres is no way for it not to make more power and torque. I actually notice a differnce with mine, I need to re dyno it again to see how much more power they really make but, I didn't feel loss of anything at all and the best thing is there's alot of wait savings going on with getting rid of the stock exhaust, it's heavier than a mo fo.

I asked Brent from brenspeed about this and this is what he basically said.

an o/r x pipe will cause a loss of torque down low equivalent to the gains higher in the rpms, so about a loss of 5-8whp below 3K and about 8-10whp above. He didn't comment on if there is a similar occurance with the o/r h pipe.

looks like a small loss up top but I guess with some tunes and other mods that would end up being insignificant. But the low end power seems to be a lot higher.

I would do it if I wasn't worried about breaking the law however for the cost its in my opinion a good investment.
