Default Whipple Self Installers Look Here

Problem solved, please disregard.

I'll be installing my whipple HO kit in 2-3 weeks, I am
unclear about one minor issue (a sequence of events
regarding the pcm and tune).

ACCORDING TO THE MARCH 2007 WHIPPLE INSTALL MANUAL....

When you recieve your parts kit, you send your
pcm off to whipple......they send it back.....ok fine...

When it's time to start the install, you start the car (to relieve
fuel pressure).....

Question: are we idling the car here on the new tune, but with
the stock intake, fuel pump & injectors? if we are fine.... but i would like confirmation.

Near the end of the install, the install manual has you flashing the pcm, with a ford
racing flash tool.......

Someone give me some insight into the sequence of events.....my HO kit is
coming from our good friends at Lethal.

It doesnt make anysense to flash the new tune before the new hardware is installed. The first step of the installation procedureon page 6 is to release the fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and let theengine run until all fuel pressure is released, it does not mention anything about flasing the tune at that time, I guess that paragraph on page 3 is wrong.
I just followed the instructions on the voucher page, (you have to remove the pcm module in order to get thecalibration number), Isent the info to Ford through the FRPP page and 2 days later I received by mailthe flashing tool with the new calibration.

thanks jrm.....
it would make more sense to me, if whipple actually
sends your pcm back to you WITH a ford flash tool,
to be used at the appropriate time (step 230).

Anyone else have any additional insight?

What I meant is you dont have to send your PCM to whipple, just install the hardware and when you are done, use the ford calibration tool to upload the new tune and you are ready to go.

jrm your a genius! i think what you were trying to say, has
finally sank into my pickled brain....what your saying is this:

1) When you get your whipple kit, follow the flash tool voucher
instructions by:
a)pulling the pcm
b) getting the calibration code
c) fill out the data sheet
d)reinstalling the pcm
e) sending the info to frpp

2) Wait for the flash tool to arrive by USPS, then start the whipple install procedure.

This would make sense to me.......

THANK YOU!
