Drag Radials

RE: Drag Radials
I don't know about everyone else, but i'm getting a set of 275/50/17 M&H drag radials in the next month. They are 28 inches in diameter and are going to look SICK!
I'll probably only use them for the track, so i'm looking for a pair of stock 17's to mount them on.

Trille! But umm... that might be kind ofbig for the everyday driver. Do you happen to know what the most popular size and brand for thestock 17inch rims on these cars...as far as strip and everyday street use? And is there anybody that knows how the whole tire size thing effects the rpm's...im not sure if bigger is better or worse...I forgot? in terms of mpg.

RE: Drag Radials
Because that is overkill for my power and I don't want to pay for aftermarket rims to mount them on.

Why not the 325/45/17 M&H's?

RE: Drag Radials
I bought a set of matching wheels, same size exactly, and put BFG DR's on. The DR's are265/40/18's and my daily's are BFG KD's in 295/35/18's.The KD's hook absolutely great on the street, just a short scuff and they grip likemad. The DR's on the other hand are awesome. I was a little concerned with the smaller size, spinning at the line, but I can launch at 4500-5000 and get 1.8 60' times. It was my first trip to thestrip with the DR's so I had to get used to them.
For anyone who is going tot he strip, is probably the best money youwill spend. Not only will it give you better ET's, but it will keep your rear end planted, keeping you from going sideways.
