Default FRPP X-pipe, to weld or not to weld?

Hey folks, I'm getting a FRPP X-pipe installed and they recommended to have it welded where the stock H-pipe is cut. They claimed that the clamps would probably leak over time.

For those who have that setup, what's your experience with the clamps that are supplied with the X-pipe? Have you had problems with them? leaks? would you recommend having the X-pipe welded?

I could also start with the clamps and weld them on later if I have leaks.

Any experience/advice to share?
