Im trying to re-tune my car to a higher octane and every time I plug the SCT in without the key in the ignition it blowes the fuse. It works when I have the key in the ignition but then it wont tune. It goes to the turn the key on and then says there is an error. What should I do?

I just programmed mine today.. I hooked mine up and went throught the initial screens with the ign. keys in the cup holder... Not sure why you are blowing fuses?? I do know you're not supposed to turn on the key until it prompts you too, just before the download..

You should be able to just plug in the programmer andfollow exactly what it says.. Might call the place you bought it from or the tech line at SCT.. Good luck..

either the sct has an internal current draw
issue, or there are bent pins on the connector(s)

look at the connectors very closely

hey thanks... I got some new fuses and put them in and the first time I tried to reprogram it, it worked. Thanks
