Default Convert from o/r X pipe to o/r H pipe for $15

my car sounds so awsome, i have steeda stingers and an o/r h pipe now. i love it. and heres how i switched for only $15.

I didn't like the o/r X pipe, to much rasp, So i took the o/r X pipe off and pulled the stock h pipe out from storage, I cut the the down pipes off of the x pipe about 12" from the bend, then i placed them next to the stock h pipe and made a mark on the stock h. next i cut the cats off of the stock h pipe. then i went to an auto parts store and got two 2.5" I.D. connectors and two clamps ( if you dont have a welding machine youll need four clamps) then i took the connectors and put them on the cut up stock h pipe. then i welded the connectors on. ( clamp them on if you dont have a welder ) then i put it all back together. fits perfect and sounds badass.

Just thought i would share this with all of you wanting to replace you o/r X for an o/r h.

How does the powerband differ now? I am running an OR/X, and its sick on the track and street. What are your thoughts?

i didn't really notice any change. it runs just as strong with theH as it did with the X, to me. Just moreof a muscle car sound. From a dead stop it still blows the tires off horrribly in 1st and 2nd gear on the street.
Irecommend the H.[sm=gears.gif]

Same i think the H sounds 10 times better than the X even if u do get a very small performance gain from the X.

sounds good...but I still prefer the sound of my kooks LT into my x pipe and borla stingers over the h pipe..i have had both and still to me...the X pipe set up has more of a raw funny car sound as opposed to deep and throaty like a truck.....which....I dont know what muscle cars some people have had on here....but none of my many muscle cars in my lifetime ever sounded like our s197 with an h pipe....most of my cars....which all had headers....had a totally different sound than that...I still firmly believe that the right x pipe set up more closely resembles the sound of my dads 68 shelby gt350....2 chevelles, 3 camaros, 2 older trans am...2 old stangs and an el camino....none sounded like an s197 with an h pipe....
