Kenne Bell is a twin-screw NOT a roots.
There is your first lesson!
Twin-screw will be more fun on the street because of the way the boost come on.
You should not go over 11 PSI with the stock engine rotating assembly.
At 10 PSI I have 450+ RWHP and run 11.4-11.7 times in the 1/4 mile.
Interesting,

Now that 450+ equates to what at the Crank? I keep hearing stories of 450 being the 4.6 liters 3v'slimit but at the wheels or crank?

Wheels. That would be over 500 bhp on those powdered rods and shallow ring lands. [sm=insomnia.gif]

I'd trust Fordfanboy, seems like he's got a good handle on all of this and hands on experience...

I have the Saleen runnin 9lbs at 445RW...

It's a blast, perfect for the street, If I were to do it again, I would heavily consider the Kenne Bell 2.6HO....

Twin Screw for the street, Twin Screws give more boost lower in the RPM range so you get more power faster... but you can also drive it normally.. basically the Twin Screws (Saleen/Kenne Bell) are very street friendly, but also devastating when your feeling a little evil.. it has been my experience that pretty much all the Forced Inductions run pretty even in horse power per pound of boost... It's just that some are capable of going to higher boost levels, so if you think that you may Forge the bottom end at some point...if your even considering it...get one that is capable of going higher...

well... thats pretty good to know. if I did end up supercharging the car though, I would want at least 470rwhp .... out of the supercharger...

what happens if you had a different cam set up? would that affect how much hp is being put out by the charger or how far you can push the car?

Not talking from experience but a better cam always helps with supercharging (Spec's are important too but any cam is good)

I wouldnt run more than 7psi on a stock motor. they may last for a year or two but more than 7 and youre slowing killing the motor. knew a guy who ran 10-12psi with methonal for a year then blew the motor.

I had mine dynotuned a month ago and got 458 rwhp on a MustangDyno. I think aDynojet would show a higher rwhp. Last dynotune was on a Dynojet and produced 515 rwhp. It surprised the tuner that the procharger showed 14lbs of boost at 6400 rpm.. Maybe that had something to do with 90 degree weather and high humidity of New Orleans. The air/fuel ratio went from 12.0 to 11.3 at the end. I am planning on an engine rebuild in July but am still somewhat nervous about the power level with stock internals. I have built-upmost every other part of the car to about a 900 hp rating. Started at the rear and working my way to the engine. Have had track issues with fuel and dead spots such as a flat 3rd gear. On the street, the biggest pain was a wicked lurch at around 2800 rpm in any gear. I had some major fuel issues which were solved with bigger injectors and the GT500 fuel system. I am also really glad to have said bye bye to the clutch, although the new shifter looks a bit intimidating to me. Doesn't look like something you can learn overnight.

I totally disagree .No need for cams when doing forced induiction on these motors.. Plenty of cars making 700-800 RWHP on the stock cams.
