Default Oil Change/Fuel Dilemma

Hey everyone. Over the weekend I did an oil change on the stang.. No aftermarket stuff as of yet.. still all stock... I used a pennzoil syntheic oil at 5w-20... along with this i run regular unleaded in the car.. Since the oil change I have noticed what sounds to me like a ping noise... but noticeable at the upper RPM range.. coulde this be that the oil is a little to thin... or maybe the 87 here in florida is not that great?

Thanks

Did you change the oil yourself? Is it full? Holds six to six and a half quarts. You could have just gotten some bad gas also.

Yeah, checked the oil today again... after sitting... and it was fine... I was thinking bad gas as well.. just wanted to make sure that my assumption wasn't incorrect...

Thanks

Doesn't sound like a fuel problem to me; if you hear pinging it's more likely to be at low rpm's, when the engine is lugging.

Rest easy. It is pinging. Maybe blend in some higher octane as soon as you can to quiet it or jusy drive lollugag style for a while. Too thin of a oil would be a knock.
