Catted X-Pipe...Need your opinion.
In the past I tried an O/R H-Pipe and it was too loud with the Flowmasters and the low end torque was gone ! The power sucked down low and was ok up high. My question for you guys/gals with catted X-Pipe... did you lose any tourque down low? what did you notice after installing it?
Thanks a lot. In a dif. thread there were 2 guys talking a little about them, but the topic was more towards Flowmaster axle back. I want more info specially on the Magnaflow & Bassani High flow X- Pipe.

I have the SLP o/r x pipe. I did notice a little loss down low but it was minimal. I am runnin 4.10 gears versus stock 3.31 in the auto though so it really doesn't bother me much. I don't like the sound much though. It's not nearly as deep sounding as the O/R H but it's acceptable and I don't care enough to go crawling around under the car again or spend the money for an H.

I put the FRPP X-Pipe and JBA headers on at the same time, retains the stock cats. When I pulled out of the station that did the work for me, my seat of the pants meter said hey where's my low end torque???. Then I came to a stop put it in first and effortlessly smoked my tires all through 1st gear and at least halfway through 2nd, at that point I said to my seat of the pants meter....SHUT UP!!!

Ezio,
I have original 40 series flowmasters and bassani x with high flow cats. First off, I love the sound of my car. I think it sounds the best compared to any other mustang I have heard. It sounds truly American while having the smooth touch of an x pipe. I didn't feel much loss down low. Plus, in all reality, when you are racing you are hardly in the in the low-end anyway.
The cool thing about the kit is that it comes with straight pipes that you can swap out with the cats. I didn't do that. Bassani states themselves that it really doesn't do that much. They suggest just to run the cats. By swapping out the cats, I didn't set off any check engine lights or anything.
Would you like a sound clip? I haven't recorded on yet, but I can if somebody would care.

not near as loud with the catted as to not catted . . .
each high flow car is only worth about 1-2 more hp than over O/R
i did notice a diff with my X w/ cats . . . 1/4 time proved it
