weird noise after install of o/r x pipe
i have a 2007 shelby gt not 500. i put on an off road x pipe and i also bought the mil eliminators from steeda. now i have what sounds like an exhaust leak coming out of my right rear muffler itself not where it clamps on the axle back pipe but out of the muffler. when sitting in the car and taking off it sounds like a exhaust leak somewhere but i have taken the o/r pipe off now twice to repostion it and see if that will eliminate the weird ticking noise but it doesnt work. impositive i have no leaks any where. i had flowmaster mufflers on the car and i put back the original mufflers on to see if that would eliminate the noise but it is still there. has anyone had this problem before? is it common? do i need to get a tuner to adjust the computer due to the o/r pipe? if i need a tuner can someone be specific and tell me where to go from there. someone please help. i almost ready to put back the original x pipe with cats back on.

RE: weird noise after install of o/r x pipe
I took mine to an exhaust shop thinking there was a leak, but we had it on the lift with a strain on the motor, and detected "pinging" instide the pipes. The conclusion we made was there were no cats to absorb the pulses from the engine, and that in turn will resonate inside the pipes, giving a gritty, sandy sounding rasp. The thin-wall pipe didn't help, either. A simple fix-header wrap the pipe, including the mass of the X sectoin. I used 50' rolls on each side, and can't argue with the results-even reduced some drone and other "strange noises". Well worth the time and cramped wrists.
