RE: 3:73

I wouldn't spend the $700 parts + labor just to go up to 3.73's. It won't be that noticeable to justify the cost. spend the 700 and get a driveshaft and safety loop, you'll feel that more.

U wont even notice it, not even worth the money and the job.

3.55 -> 4.10 noticable
3.31 -> 3.73 noticable too

4.10's all the way!! don't fear the gear!! I couldn't decide what to go with and read every post out there about gears. Finally went with 4.10's and they're the greatest. Having so much fun. Definetly not too much gear. I drive every day on the thruway @80 mph and about 2700rpm. City driving is actally easier and I do use first gear.

I bought my car with the 3.31's in it to save the $100. I noticed it going to 3.73's but 3.55 to 3.73's is a complete wast of money in my opinion. you would be better off with

1. CAI and a tune
2. Headers
3. Driveshaft.

All of these will give you an average of 10-15RWHP and cost about the same with labor. The gears won't give you extra HP.

I agree with #1 and I agree with everyone saying the 3.73 jump on a manual aint worth beans but if you jump to 4.10's you will indeed notice an instant difference.

I would get CAI & Tune and 4.10 gears first on my mod list IMO.

No matter what gear ratio you had to begin with, 3.73's or 4.10's will be an improvement. A lot of guys here say you won't notice much of a difference going to 3.73's maybe you won't ( I noticed it)...but you know who will definately notice the difference.....The guy you race with a car with your same mods, but with 3.55's https://mustangforums.com/micons/m9.gif

4.30s, these cars make power up top, that means they need shorter gears to get into the peak power quicker, and you will loose 3 mpg at the most but thats just a number IMO, you want fuel economy buy a hybrid
