GT Delivery delays

RE: GT Delivery delays
I order mine the second week of April. Took about 7 weeks to get my GT Convertible. There was a delay at the factory something about an electrical problem and/or a rail car shortage. That's what the dealer told me about mine. I was there when he called Ford. I'm sure there was some truth to his story and the fact that he wasn't a sales person but the Commercial Fleet Manager.

RE: GT Delivery delays
My dealer told me the same thing about the 18" polished rims. It is a supply/demand issue at the factory. Ordered mine mid March this year and was told 8-12 weeks. VIN came about a month from order and received car at about the 8 week mark in mid-May. My salesman said he was surprised I received it as quickly as I did with the problems the factory is having keeping up with the demand of the 18"ers.
I think the only thing you can really fault the dealer with is he was overly optimistic on the delivery time and he didn't know or inform you of the 18" issue.
No matter what it will be worth the wait.

RE: GT Delivery delays
I ordered an 08 on June 1st. My dealer told me to scratch the 18" polished rims from the order or I'd be out til Sept to get it. I went with the 17" stock rims and walked across the street to the tire shop and ordered some 18s to put on when it gets here. Not only will I have the car in July now, but I also saved about $100 by not getting the wheels from Ford.
