? about FRPP differential girdle???
Does this look right?
The other one is way futher in than this side. I'm thinking they forgot to tighten this one down. How do you tighten or loosen it? Do you loosen the black nut around it first? For those that don't know I had 4.10 gears and the diff girdle installed by a local shop.

I see by the instructions that the black nuts are the jam nuts and get torqued to 25-30 ft lbs. I know they adjusted them to put the cover on because both were all the way in when I gave it to them. I guess if it's not against the bearing cap it won't matter since the stock cover didn't have anything.

The cover is damn close to the panhard bar! 1/4 inch clearance if that.

Well mystery solved! They obviously screwed up one of the stock load bolts and replaced it with a longer one. I tried tightening it, but it wouldn't budge so i loosened it and realized it was allready contacting the bearing cap.
Then I got to looking at the pictures I took of the cover before it was installed and I looked at the bolt in there now. They are clearly not the same bolt. I'm going to call ford racing and see if it's possible to get a new bolt, the one they used almost hits my panhard bar.

What does that do? I mean besides lighter than the stock one, what is the advantage to upgrading it? What if you are keeping the stock gears, is there still a reason to get it?
