Hi all

I didn't really get punked because I never took the bait but on I4 back from Tampa to Orlando Monday night I got a pretty new black volkswagen jetta which must have been Turboed the way it moved after a little bit of baiting. Started to bug the **** out of me, we was both going about 80 and then he got next to me and wanted to race it out but I know the I4 is cop land at the time of night I was driving. I don't know much about these volkswagen jetta's but could I have taken him in my Stock GT? What about if I was running TC'er?

This always happens when I wax her up! I really think I gotta get this TC installed fast....I feel crap when this happens!

Top of the line Jetta GDI Turbo =200HP, 0-60 7.2 sec, top speed 128 mph, you would have moped the floor with it assuming it was stock.

The Jetta GLI comes from the factory with a 2 liter turbo, a ecu tune will give it and extra 50+hp. you could probably get close to around ~270hp on a 2.0T with just intake/exhaust/chip, and thats on the factory turbo which is very small. Upgrade to a bigger turbo such as a K04 which will bolt right in place of the stock K03, and can easily get over 300hp.

Of coarse, the whole FWD thing really kills the fun. I would love to have a new 2.0T Audi TT and just go to town on it.

My girlfriend has a Beetle with a 1.8T in it, we were at a VW show last weekend and had a demonstration chip installed in it (returns to stock after 6 driving hours). Her car normally runs in the mid-high 15's. APR's site says that it takes the motor from 150hp to around 215hp. It turned her car into a rocket, I think it must have shaved a full second off her 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. $500 for 65hp, awesome deal. I've been told that with full exhaust and intake along with a chip that you can come close to 240hp, that is really the limit of what the old 1.8T can do on the stock K03 turbo.

Yeah I have an '06 GTI for my daily driver with the 2.0T motor and its pretty quick and entertaining to drive, but the mustang is much faster. The GTI handles and brakes like a **** though...

gotta say... I am really starting to consider some hardcore engine upgrades. Gotta have the fastest car in your town

I pretty sure you would have taken him. I killed 2 of them last week and im pretty much stock.

Thats right, this was last week with a rented Audi TT It would reach 250 easily and thats probably with the smallest engine available for that car.
