Default FR 500 Wheels

Has anyone put the FR500 wheels with the 24 mm offset on a 2005+ Mustang? If so, how did they fit and do you have a picture? Thanks.

Hi JerryP,

Don't buy wheels with a 24mm offset! They do not fit the S197 chassis correctly and make the tires stick out past the wheel arches. These Ford GTstylewheels are much better made wheels and have a better offset for our S197 chassis and they look great on the car. They come in18"x9" and 18"x10" wheels sizes and fit inside the wheel wells!

Goand lower your car with a set ofEibach Pro-Kitor Steeda sport springs and then shoot thewheelwells showing the lateralclearance of the sidewall to tire. They won't fit correctly.

Cheers!

Hey F1Fan, you may want to look at my car before you make statements like this. I have the 24mm offset for the 99-04's and they sit absolutely flush with my fender, no rubbing, and i get more compliments about my rims and rubber than you could ever imagine. I have heard alot of people saying not to do it, but I have had them on my car for over 2 years now and have had no problems...

There area few SoCal locals with the FRPP wheels on thier S197GT's and none of themhave lowered their carsdue to clearence issues. I've looked closely at these cars and the problem is not severe but between the production variations in fender position and chassiswhen you adda set of sportsprings and want to drive around town and negaociate drveways andintersectionsor go in a direction other than straight ahead there arefront and rear fender clearance problems due to these wheels having inadequate offset.

Dome a bigfavor, shoot and post here someclose images of the wheel well clearances of thesewheelswhich show the sidewalls and fender lipson the leftside (driver side), and right side rear, a photo showing the left and right sides viewed from the rearstaring at the fenderlip to the groundand the front clearances at full lock using the same profiles. This is wheretwo out of the three cars I've seen with these FRPP wheels had problems severe enough that theycold notlower their cars without clearence issues. 12mm on the 9" wide versionis not a lot but it is just enough to ensure proper fit and just enough tire clearance for most any S197 chassis in the front and rear wheelwells.

Cheers!
