getting beefed up before the camaro drop
i've been hearing that they are pushing the release date back til 2010 now on the camaro, which is good b/c it gives us more time to beef up the s197 to compete w/ that 400HP stocker they're putting out. your thoughts?

If they are going to have 400 stock....they can do the same as us and just add a few things and be close to 400 to the wheels and still look stock. Hell 2010 is a long way away though....we will have a redesign by then!

The new camaro looks waytoo futuristic but if they were to redesign
with some similar aspects it wouldnt be THAT bad. The "concept" Ford Mustang GT which was out around 2002 looked futuristic to.
Ford definetly has to step up and give the mustang a bigger powerplant
before the new camaro gets out. And also they have to be EXTREMELY careful
if they were to adjust the exterior, because to me, the mustang is damn near perfect.

i agree in the looks dept. we have a much MUCH nicer looking ride, inside and out. just sucks when the competition is calling to hit the lot w/ 100 more HP. sure we have time til then but it's not quite as cheap as it was buying bolt on's for the old fox body 5.0's. used to we had an advantage b/c it was cheaper to buy performance mods for a mustang than for a camaro, but now the long tubes i want are the same as what my buddy paid for his ls1 long tubes

Let's also take price into consideration. What's that 400hp gonna run you? Ford tends to give you more bang for your buck. This will be no exception. I'd be surprised if the new Camaro didn't cost upwards of 35 or 40k.
