Default BBK intake = Check Engine Light

Well I got a good deal on a BBK intake and a Predator......I bolted the intake on the car and immediately noticed an improvement however after a couple hours of driving I now have a check engine light......so heads up to those are considering this intake......you will need a tune. So I called doug at B A M A and he could not help me with a tune because he does not sell the BBK intake and has never tuned a mustang with one..........so I called Brenspeed and they said no problem they can do the tune but they do not support the Diablosport Predator, they only work with SCT......any suggestions ????

Did you try calling the place where you bought it?

I am missing something here I think you bought an intake/tuner package correct? Did the predator come with a tune on it? I thought it would come with some kind of canned tune at least. When you installed the intake did you use the predtor to change from the stock tune? As stated above contact the vendor who sold it to you. A few of the intakes dont require a tune but in generalmost do because of the increased airflow.

I did not buy a package, I got them seperately and the Predator was used. Maybe I will have to sell the predator and go with sct instead.

You should beable to find a tuner for the predator that can do a tune for you. If you do decide to get the sct then I would get it from brenspeed. Until you get it tuned I would put the stock intake back on to avoid unwanted engine troubles.

I thought predator had canned tunes for most of the aftermarket bolt ons? Have you tried calling them to see if they can supply you with the canned tune for the BBK? You could even try BBK as most of the bolt on companies have some aliance agreement with predator perhaps they can help. Either way you definetly need a working tune, I agree with Mikes_BLK_GT go back to stock if nothing else until you can get the tune. However, I think your quickest fix may be to call Diablosport.
