TPMS Sensors? Removing them
I ordered a new set a wheels, the stock 17" bullits on Pirreli P-zero's.
I take it they don't have the sensors, and that i will need to remove them from my current tires and install them on the new ones correct?
Is there anywhere i can find step by step information on how doing so for my car-guy?
(no pro's where i'm from so he's going to need all the help he can get, plus i don't want to drive around with a damaged TPMS system that keeps flashing all the time)
Any advice.
Thanks Guys

RE: TPMS Sensors? Removing them
The TPMS sensors are snapped into carriers which are held in place by metal bands. The bands aren't re-useable, so you'll need to buy new ones for the new wheels (they are size-specific), Ford sells them for about $60 each (ouch!) but you can buy them aftermarket; Discount Tire has them for about $25 each, and I understand that NAPA may sell them. All you have to do is take the carrier and sensor from one old wheel, install it with a new band on a new wheel and replace it in the same position on the car. Repeat for the other three wheels. No programming is required. When you first start the car you'll get the TPMS warning light but it should go out in 3-4 miles. Good luck with the switch.
