Removing the drive belt?

Removing the drive belt?
This is a stupid question, but is there an easy way to remove the drive belt? I was planning on using a pry bar on the tensioner, but haven't really looked at it yet.

RE: Removing the drive belt?
per ford shop manual:
Removal and Installation
[ol][*]Using a suitable belt tensioner release tool, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the accessory drive belt.[/ol][*]
NOTE: Refer to the illustration for correct drive belt routing. To install, reverse the removal procedure.[*]I use a 1/2" breaker bar, you'll see a place on the end of the tensioner on the front side to insert[*]the breaker bar[*]

use a 1/2" drive socket in your ratchet. Insert into the Tensioner pulley and push down (#5 of the attached). might have to remove your intake elbow to get access. also, have a handy diagram when you go to re-install.http://www.cherod.com/mustang/HowTo/Pulleys.htm

RE: Removing the drive belt?
I'm trying to diagnose a vibration that is only noticeable at 3200rpms under load in atleast 2nd, 3rd and 4th, can't really feel it in 1st, haven't tried 5th. I want to remove the drive belt to rule out any of the accessories and the belt itself. I'm going to run it up to 3200rpms in 3rd gear with the rear wheels off the ground.
I'm fairly certain it is engine related. It was there before my 4.10's were installed and the gears should have moved the vibration in the rpm range if it was driveline related, which they did not. it may have been there since new, i didn't really notice it until installing a 1 piece driveshaft.
I put the stock tune and airbox back on and it didn't change. I would just take it to the dealer, but since I have 4.10 gears now, there's no way they'll believe I don't have a custom tune for it.
My next mod was going to be a nitrous system, but i'd like to find out what's causing the vibration first. It's not really a problem when going through the gears, only when cruising at 3200-3400rpms, it's gone by 3500.

hey moose, i see what your planning to do with
the jack stands and all......i like the idea.....
if you feel the vib, you can take the rear wheels
off also, to see if it is wheel related. be careful.
