The moment you exchange your exhaust for a nonconforming one you can get a ticket if they go by the letter of the law. Take it like a man, or fight it and expect to loose.

Really...what else can you expect? everyone here who has changed their exhaust runs the same chance...

You could try and fight it and HOPE that they are in a good mood and just check the sound level or something along those lines to see if it actually is illegal...

but you cannot compare your exhaust to a semi truck or motorbike...because on those ones, thats how they come from their factory...

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the signature Harley sound. They are nowhere near as loud from the factory. They go aftermarket to get such a loud noise.

this is why i will keep my catalytic converters. you can get a tough sounds without risking tickets because of the raspy stuff some of you enjoy. the issue is that some people like that rasp so much that they are constantly running wide open. its just a matter of time before the ticket comes. put the cats back on it, pay the ticket, and call it a day. IMO they sound good with the stock exhaust and flows.

it's all about where you live. here in AL you'd never get a ticket..

i've even had a cop pull me over to tell me nice ride and that it sounds good.. LoL (o/r H and Flows)

If you geta traffic cop in a bad mood or that has had abad day and he zero's in on you he WILL pull you over and give a ticket for whatever he can find, doesnt matter where you live. If your exhaust is illegal or even just borderline illegal then you just made it easy for him.
