shelby gt price question

RE: shelby gt price question
If you're lucky the Shelby GT MSRPs for $38-39K, abasic premium GT is about $27K, so you're looking at about $11-12K(all Shelby GTs aren't based on premium GTs either, saw a Shelby GT on eBay based on a deluxe GT with no IUP,a vinyl steering wheel and no Shaker 500).
Although they're very nice(I like the white version better), unless you have the means and the true desire to own one, a premium GT with all the FRPP kits added on to simulate the Shelby GT would be cheaper and, if all work is performed by Ford dealer, shouldn't void any warranty(but check to be sure). Although the aftermarket offers better stuff than what Ford sells in thier FRPP line and costs less too. Just food for thought.......................

RE: shelby gt price question
My local dealer has a white one on the show room floor with a sticke that has a market adjustment of $5000 for a total price of $44k. I was checking it out for mods (I have an 08 GT on order and can mod it to Shelby specs for about a total of $34k including the car). The sales guy that checked to make sure I didn't need help offhandedly commented that it was way overpriced. The manager who came to "answer" some of my questions (I use quotes because I knew more than he did), said he would make me the deal of th century on it. What that means, I'm not sure, but I guarantee it's sticker or below, which would be about $39k.

RE: shelby gt price question
LOL - the GT 500's around here (Los Angeles) are marked up tens of thousands of $. When I bought my GT (April) the dealer had a couple GT 500's sitting on the floor with dealer markups of $35,000 each.
The ebay ones are not GT 500's - they are Shelby GT's. The GT 500's usually have a reserve price in those auctions of at least $55K or so.
