How much does the drive shaft really help? (dyno numbers?) That may be another mod I want to look into. I am definetly buying drag radials pretty soon for a set of 17 inch rims. I wasnt spinning terribly, but the radials can only help the times...

Nice times. Last time I was there with LTs, o/r x-pipe, JLT cai, ba/ma tune I was running 13.6@104. Now I have u/d pulleys, twin 62mm TB, delete plates, and a steeda tri-ax ready to install before I got again. I was losing hope of breaking 12s all motor with just bolt ons but you just gave me new hope.

I would think you should be running about 13.3-4 before you got the pullies, plates and TB.

Nice times!
I don't think the alum. driveshaft is really a mod that will net you dyno numbers, however for actual driving it will indeed help you. Shaving off rotational weight = good. The car will feel smoother and the drive better for it as well.
If you are serious about cutting your times down a bit, the I would consider MT's over the Nitto's.
Between driveshaft and MT's you are looking at shaving a good bit of time off and the car will have 12's all over it.

My 1st time to the track and the 90 degree weather on top of driving for 2-3 hours I think slowed me down a bit. There was a cammed trans am only running 13.3s so I dont think it was too bad of a day.

Ditto on the driveshaft. Smoothness is the right word--it's almost like having a different car. I have the Spydershaft...

John, did you have the car dynoed after the spyder driveshaft was put in? I am definetly going to get a set of 17 inch rims probably within the next two to three days with some type of drag radials in the back and performance tires in the front. I was either considering a new torque converter(TCI street fighter)or a driveshaft(spyder). I hope that the drag radials combined with a smaller rim size will get me either 13 flat, or faster... is that realistic?
