They sound pretty mean. But you got to get a high flow catted X-pipe. I would have got them but i am going with Long tube header, a non catted X so im going to keep my flowmasters.

Yeah they are raspy as hell, and with the catted x-pipe (also SLP) that I have really raspy and really loud. Also, if you are in a tunnel with the windows down the trumpeting can be f-ing deafening.
Search youtube for some vids. Here is mine done a few months ago, started for the first time with the LM1's and SLP catted x.
The air compressor is really loud, this video doesn't really do the sound levels justice.

I have lm's on my car and I love the way they sound...Everybody always turns and looks when I drive past them.. I'm actually selling them because I need the money and that's really the only mod on my car I can sell.

I don't know what the big fuss is about the SLP Loudmouths. I put a set on my car once when I had it up on the lift getting my lowering springs done (a guy at the shop was trying to sell them to me)
They had an underwater, gurgly. unnatural raspiness. I didn't like the sound at all. Personally I think the stock mufflers sounded much better, even though they are a lot quieter. But, to each his own.

ha. I was in the same boat as you. My brother has them, my friend has them, and my cousin has them. I hate them, wayyyyy to raspy in my opinion. After a long time of thinking and searching, I found something even better. Boom tubes. =just as loud, no raspiness. Just muscle car. Not to confuse you more or anything, I just know where you are coming from

Nothing but compliments from mine. People seem to love the sound of my car, or they are just too chicken **** to say anything about it. I haven't gotten one complaint from a neighbor and have had cops behind me and by me at lights. AND I'm in California.
GO SLP!!!

I had SLP's when i first got my car(they sounded good but not what i wanted in sound) but decided to go with a offroad H and stingers because i wanted the old school sound and thats what i got with that combo. Fairly quiet at idle but step on it and you'll wake up people 2 blocks away haha
