I think I'll be keeping timing on the low side.
I've actually done a lot of tuning between myself and my friends on a 302 punched out to a 331 (mexican block) with a T-67 turbo in a fox-body with AEM. We run low timing on that thing usually below 20 in boost.
I'd probably do something similar on my own car.
If the average guy needs 7psi on 20 degrees of timing to make 400whp or so (all hypothetical, just showing the idea) ... I'll run a little more boost and maybe 15-18 degrees of timing. Whatever I feel is comfortable at that power level.

I'm at 9psi and about 8 degrees of timing and that was dynoed/Tuned on a mustang dyno and got 392 rwhp and 431rwhp on a dyno jet.Now we could go a little more aggressive and get another 40-50rwhp or so, but 20 degree's of timing is crazy IMO, I'm sure others will disagree

I think 8 degrees is really low (or really safe depending on how you look at it) 20 is on the higher end of the spectrum tho.

Yeah we are low I think some where between the two would be fine (13-15 maybe) we went that low on purpose, one reason is we are putting a whole new engine soon and there was no point blowing this one until it was ready, also we kind wanted to see how safe we could go and get 400rwhp.

Nothing wrong with that. Better safe than sorry.
