The powder coated rods are the exact same size (actually smaller if you can beleive it) as a standard toothbrush...

This is your engine's 'weak link' stock and why (even with a good tune) it is a crapshoot in the 450+ hp range.
would just upgrading the rods be a small step to future protection ?
If so, where can I get my hands on some, my car is strictly a pleasure car now, and I want her to be comfortable with a heavy foot.

Get yourself a forged rotating assembly...lots of places offer them...this kit would include pistons, rods and a crankshaft...not only would this help reliability, but also give a little extra torque...

ok, if we get the forged assembly, it can take the extra HP, but what about our blocks?

Our block is good for 1000HP...so i dont think you'll be running into any problems with that...

well Basically I'm in a muscle car club...and don't know **** about muscle car engines. I know about V-6 and 4 cylinder import cars...but not much about V8s. Basically if someone looks at my engine I want to be able to tell them what it is, and what parts it has that are unique to it. So basically I don't say it has a v8 and thats it.

^^^ I guess you should just page through all the old drivetrain threads the next time you've got some free time (you know, at work lol...) and click on whatever you feel might help you in your search for knowledge...
