Full Proof trick dealer and keep Retune
Most of us already know that with a retune and an intake you can go back to stock intake and tune before letting the dealer see your car. But in some instances they can check your computer and see when the last flash was put on. Pulling the power from the batter doesnt erase this information does it? If it does then that easy. But if pulling the batter does not switch the tune and the dealer decides to scan the computer and he notices that the last reflash date was very recent will he know that there was a high performance tune on the car or will he only be able to tell that the car was recently reflashed. If he can only retell that the car was reflashed then we could say that the dealership down the road that checked my code (or any excuse) must have changed my tune also, would this work? I am only trying to get answers because i dont want the dealer to void my warranty if i do everything to stay a couple steps ahead.

Yes uplugging the battery will essentially erase the memory of the flash and the dealer wouldnt be the wiser....but its really pointless....the reason i would remove the tune is so the dealer doesnt accidently write over it with a CPU update...then you will have many problems that can stem from that. Just because a dealer checks and sees that you reflashed your CPU doesnt mean anything....your warranty doesnt dissappear like magic or something and you dont go on some blacklist or something. THere is no reason to "trick" the dealer. I would never bother to erase the computer memory before going in for anything unless I know that a CAI/tune can be blamed specifially for the problem you have.
People need to quit being babies about their warranty!!

I agree & disagree. The dealer is more likely to know if you disconnect the battery because the only code that will be there is a p1000, and this will get him thinking what is going on. Just put the stock tune in it. There is no way to tell that it is an aftermarket tune on these cars---none that I have been able to see on any of our computers(IDS, PDS)

Battery disconnect. Blame it on leaving it sitting unused
for a week or two and the battery died. Foolproof.

Haha, and get a new battery while you're at it.

Too bad this won't happen unless it actually test bad--Ford is cracking down hard on this. They have a specific tester required, and you have to put in a ticket number, before it will give you a code required to test the battery.
