ORIGINAL: Speedyejl

For you guys who know the NHRA regs if you have a Dry cell battery do you need a sealed box with vent tube
'Sealed' is a harsh word dipicting 'air tight' and the answer is no. You do need a vent tube, an approved cut-off switch ('approved is either a 'switch' or a 'push to cut' push type lever. The box lid does need to be secured and this is usually accomplished with wing nuts and washers on the lid and is how most kits come.

I have a battery im my trunk...and in the front. Haha, One for audio and one for the car. The rear is hooked up to the front, so even if I removed the front battery, the car could still run. I just secured the rear battery (Sealed AGM) to the bottom of the spare wheel well.
