Default battery in trunk?

Iwas just curious if anyone had moved the battery to the trunk in these cars to shave some weight off the front end. If anyone has Id like to here what problems they ran into if any. Can anyone see any problems I might run into if I were to do it because its an inexpensive mod.

I saw a guy last week that did that. He said he hasn't had any problems at all. It made the engine bay look a lot neater.

not to be an ***, but its minimal weight, and will hardly make any difference unless it is used for some serious autocrossing.

Just my opinion of course

Actually, I've been told otherwise...

I havent done it myself, but from people i've talked to..It removes the 10lbs or whatever it is from the front and adds it to the back, so it would have the effect of 20lbs in the rear and 0 in the front...if that makes any sense...mainly becuase it is also weight off the front...

I cant see it being that difficult, and yes, it would def clean up the engine bay alot.

If you do it, let us know how it goes and take pics!

Actually, I think it's more like 50-60 lbs for battery weight. Difficult to take any weight off these cars. If you can move 50-60 lbs from the front and relocate to the rear, near the rear axle...I would think it might be a good idea. So I did. No problems, no issues. Just don't forget the kill switch for NHRA rules. You can see switch on right rearbumper.

i did mine last year. if you are using the stock battery then it really isn't worthwhile. the position of the battery in these cars is behind the spindle centerline or about 2 ft further back than previous mustangs which means it won't have as drastic of an effect on weight distribution. i did it cause i wanted to run a larger battery with more storage for running the w/p and fans during cool downs anyway the stock battery sucks.
i used the painless wiring constant duty solenoid with a small mushroom head emergency off switch mounted in the trunk lid(i don't mind drilling holes in my car).
here's some pics of my stuff.

Is that a D.I.Y batt relocation? If so you should but together a kit and sell those as well. Pretty clean relocation.

For you guys who know the NHRA regs if you have a Dry cell battery do you need a sealed box with vent tube
