Default First Time At The Track....

So I went to the track today for the first time in my young life. I have an 07 GT Auto, with a JLT CAI/SCT 93 Race Tune from Doug, Pypes O.R H and Mac Axel Backs. So it was 90 degress and very humid so I know that plays a part in my times, but I thought I did fairly well for my first time, I am just wondering what you guys think. I kept the TCS off and the O/D off and I powerbraked to launch. My first run was 13.9, then another 13.9, then a 13.8 then on my fourth run I ran a 13.5. After that I ran a few 13.6's then I had my best run of the day a 13.4. My best R/T was a .088 and my best 60ft was a 2.138. I consistently ran 13.6 after my 13.5 run, which was my fourth run out of 11 runs. Funny enough the only time my friends recorded me running was when I ran my 13.4 so hopefully I can get that video up in a a day or so. I also was running 20 lbs of pressure in my tires. Stock rims and tires. The best part of the day was when an 06 GTO 6.0 showed us his 425hp dyno sheet and he couldnt break a 13.7 haha. My friend ran an 11.8 with his 05 KB. Anyway, just looking for feedback on how you guys think I did. Thanks

Mike

makes me happy that GTOs suck....They were one of GMs bigger dissapointments of the last 10 years i would say. Good job on the 13.4.

your 60ft times are bad...you need some better tires and some suspension.

You have an 07 auto GT. So I assume you have the stock 3.31 gears? Reason I ask is I'm getting an 07 GT auto soon and I don't know how much I'll like the stock 3.31's in it. 13.4 is damn good for 3.31 gears and your mods (at least from all that I have read before).

Yea Stkjock that was Island. A thousand times better than Englishtown. Not packed and I got 11 runs in 3 hours. You will never get that in Englishtown. And yes I have the stock 3.31 gears. My car makes a lot of top end power with the tune I have. All in all I was very happy with what I did, especially since I had no idea how to launch and my run was pretty terrible. On my first run I didn't even get off the line when the light turned green because I didn't know when it was turning green lol. Ron's car is definitely kick ***!! He is a wealth of knowledge too and I can thank him for basically teaching me each time I went up. I ran against him like four times and it was like I wasn't moving, he was GONE!! lol

Great runs!
And FWIW, your et is not affected by a late launch.

Mike,

cool... did I meet u @ Whiskey two weeks ago? I showed up late... (shaved head).
Thanks for the info on Island...getting tempting to make a trip there and see if they kick me off!! I suspect they will if I can drive the car to its potential.
