Default How high for REVs

Seriously guys what rpm is it okay to rev these cars. The redline is 6K but alot of people tell ne they shift at 6500. Is this running on the border of walking home or is it okay to seldomely rev this high like maybe 5 times every 2 months when you are at the track

I just got back from the track and my rev limiter is set at 6200 but it cut me off around 6K and this car is not going into the 12s without revving higher.

Mine is set at 6800 right now. I usually shift around 6500 if I'm really driving hard. These cars are made to be driven not babied I wouldn't worry about the higher limiter. I drive mine hard all the time and haven't had any problems at 19000 miles. I think its harder on the engine bouncing off the limiter at 6250than shifting at a higher RPM and not hitting it.

I set my rev limiter at 6800, but I shift at 6500 at the track, which gives me a bit of wiggle room in case I miss a shift.
