ORIGINAL: hammeron
i looked at that kit very closely....in the end, after
looking at the difference in cost, i went with the HO.
-
i would have been extremely happy with the 6psi kit,
knowing what i know now, but am glad i maxed out
the stock (non-forged) engine potential.
either kit you'll be in heaven

That's whats so appealling about that kit. You don't get bragging rights but you do get a really decent boost in performance. One article said Ford tested it in all temperatures and altitudes, too.

RE: Whipple non-intercoled
One thing I would point out is that for an AUTO the HO kit does not have a tune available from FRPP. Only for 5 spd manual.
They don't recommend more than 400hp (at crank afaik) on the Auto trans.
So even if you did the self install you'd have to get it to get an SCT tuner and have somebody at a dyno shop tune it for you.
Probably best to get a custom tune anyway but if you just want to run the safe tune to get it going you'd be out of luck...

RE: Whipple non-intercoled
The HO is $5800 at most places Ive checked, if I go with an intercooled unit it will be saleen if I go cheap and pick the non-ic it will be the whipple which is the most likely case at this point but not set in stone. I'd like to go with Brenspeeds saleen it's just out of my price range at this point. I could get the whipple or a KB even dyno tuned and maybe 39lb injectors vs the 34lb that comes in the whipple kit I do believe so that isnt an issue again other than cost. Its not necessarily that I dont have the money to spend but rather what I can spend and not have huge hassle's with the wife and yes that is important to me.
