I guess technically it could be true...if your spark plugs are slap worn out to the point of cutting your power, and you put in fresh plugs, you'll gain the lost power and be back where you started, right? lol...the same holds true for air and fuel filters etc...yeah if you're in desperate need of them, you'll get a power gain...right back to where you started...

kind of reminds me of this a$$hat I work with...after I got my 07 I guess he got jealous and bought a 96 GT off ebay (!)...instead of doing the mods I'm trying to recommend to him, he goes and buys some thick-a$$ plug wires and replaces all eight coil packs (no DTCs or anything BTW) and asks me if he'll see any gain...I'm like "well if your plug wires were faulty in the first place, yeah"...

LOL, i hate it when i recommend ppl who just got the same car you have, then u tell them a way to mod it cuz u obviously know more, but instead, they dont listen and get weird parts. THEN later come back and said, "yah, i should've gotten what you told me in the first place..."
