my money's on the 99 cobra. little bit more HP, a lot less weight.

New gen. The old ones are roughly the same power, they dont have the supercharge in the 1999 Cobra's...just a tuned 4.6

With the new technology, my money is on the 05-07...I've read articles where even with tuning and dyno pulls...the 1999 Cobras run 13.7-13.9 with best results...most times its a 14.0 car.

MustangSpecs.com has the Cobra rated at a 13.9 1/4 mile. I think it would be a good race, but my money's on the s197 too.

it depends...did the 99 cobra in question get its recall performedfor low hp/tq numbers vs. advertised? lol...
...actually either way the s197 should be a few clicks ahead...

I watched a bone stock2001 Cobra run at the track last sunday and he was running 14.20's all day. I think it's a drivers race if both cars are stock.

^^^ strange since the new edge gt's were running 14.1-14.2...maybe a case of needing a good driver mod or some traction? GTs put out 260hp back then and cobras were 305 or 320 I think...

I have a feeling the guy didn't know what he was doing. I wanted to drive that car so bad and I even asked him, but he said no. Funny thing was he wasn't even the worst driver there, had a guy in a GT500 running 14.00's all day too. He killed it at the line once too. He was making that car look so bad...
